Nr. 105 (102 -250) von insg. 200 Exempl. sur chiffon sur lana.- Charles Sorel, Seigneur de Souvigny (1602-1674) französischer Schriftsteller und Historiker. Geboren und aufgewachsen in einer Pariser Juristenfamilie, betrat Sorel als ganz junger Mann 1623 höchst erfolgreich die literarische Bühne mit «La vraie histoire comique de Francion», dem ersten französischen Picaro-Roman nach spanischen Vorbildern (z. B. dem Lazarillo de Tormes von 1554).- SCHEM (1881-1971) The printmaker and illustrator Raoul Serres used the pseudonym Schem for clandestine publications, such as the edition of the Marquis de Sade’s Justine which is the source of our original lithographs. Raoul Serres was born in Cazères-sur-Garonne, and was taught by Jacquet, Debouchet, and Lèon Bonnat. Serres was a member of the Société des Artistes Français from 1906, exhibiting at the Society's annual Salon until 1946. Raoul Serres won the Prix de Rome in 1906.
